Clara's Secret and Other Bristol Mysteries
FruitSalad Photographic has entered the big wide world of book publishing. In collaboration with Tangent Books of Bristol and author Robert Wallace, FruitSalad Photographic has supplied over forty of its photographs of Bristol to a new book entitled Clara`s Secret and Other Bristol Mysteries. A set of four fictional short stories based in and around Bristol that mix up a fusion of Fact, Fiction, Supposition, Suspense and the Supernatural !!
Fruitsalad's Photographer Adrian Ford explains; "This very welcome opportunity threw up some really interesting photographic challenges & chances to create some exciting new work. Not least, the cover shot which consisted of Birdcage Walk in Clifton, a 1930's silk dress, a Bristol University student model and a 'Ghostly' double flash in daylight double exposure! Suspense and the supernatural were the bywords for this brief" Adrian continues "and we chose Birdcage Walk for it`s iconic status as a very beautiful and well known Bristol location, that & having a natural time tunnel aspect" he laughs.
Other new photographs of Bristol for the book included images of Bristol Central Library, Dowry Square, Hotwells, the Cenotaph and Sea Mills.
We have a limited number of brand new copies available, so order now to avoid disappointment.
From the pen of author Robert Wallace and the lens of photographer Adrian Ford comes a book that may well haunt you to the grave. The line between what is real and merely imaginary is blurred and crossed by this collection of weird and wonderful tales set in Bristol.
The four short stories weave in and out of the past and present using well-known locations, local landmarks and documented historical events so skillfully, that the fictional elements are sometimes hard to identify and it is this element that makes these Bristol tales truly unsettling.
Adrian's photographs heighten this sense of unease through their clever manipulation of familiar subjects, add a further dimension to the narratives, and provide an odd, disorientating beauty of their own.
